Fabrication
Hand fabrication work involves utilising skills and knowledge built up over many years. The Genius of the Lamp team are able to fabricate bespoke one off commissions or manufacture a range of lamps, radiator shells, and items constructed in brass, copper, silver or gold.
The process always starts with a drawing, whether that's hand drawn or digital format, we are able to assist and provide constructive development to enable a clean and straight forward approach to fabrication.
Genius of the Lamp skills are not limited to lamps or car parts alone, we have been involved in the design process and construction of Hotel Lighting and Furniture, Bar works, Museums pieces, Bespoke awards and the list is endless.
Hand fabrication work is carried out, either to replicate the surviving lamp of a pair, or to produce a pair of lamps based on the original specifications.
Each lamp is handmade by our team of craftsmen who produce a replica lamp and use the original as a template to replicate every pattern and component, down to the last detail.
Genius of the Lamp also hand fabricates other vintage vehicle parts, such as Rolls Royce and Bentley radiator shells and fenders, as well as various other non-auto-related products requiring a similar skill set of metalworking and handcrafting techniques, but which involve a rather different set of bespoke manufacturing processes.
